FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – November 18, 2015
Richard M. Beck, Esquire, a partner at Klehr Harrison Harvey Branzburg, LLP, received the 2015 Turnaround Management Association’s Large Transaction of the Year Award, in recognition of the Firm’s work in the successful restructuring of Cooper-Booth Wholesale Company, LP and Affiliates (“CBW”). Mr. Beck and Morton R. Branzburg, Esquire, led the firm’s representation of the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the CBW chapter 11 case. Mr. Beck and the Firm were recognized at the recent TMA Annual Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona.
“ I am honored for the Firm’s recognition for its important role in the successful outcome of CBW chapter 11 case,” said Beck. “We are proud to have been recognized by our peers at a national level on a matter that concluded with a successful outcome for unsecured creditors, as well as other constituents in the case.”
CBW, headquartered in Pennsylvania, serves retailers in the Mid-Atlantic region and is one of the top 20 convenience store wholesale distributors in the US. It sought Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection in May 2013. Klehr Harrison was instrumental in helping the company successfully exit Chapter 11 with a reorganization plan that paid all creditors in full, plus interest, and that preserved more than 200 jobs.
Since 1993, the Turnaround Management Association’s annual awards program has recognized the most successful turnarounds and impactful transactions.
