William T. Hill

As an experienced trial lawyer with an advanced degree in trial advocacy, Bill excels in the courtroom. He has extensive experience litigating a wide range of actions, most notably those involving mergers and acquisitions, shareholder divorces, construction litigation, the pharmaceutical industry, real-estate development and commercial-lease disputes.  He is a tireless advocate for his clients throughout the litigation process.  For cases that are better resolved outside of court, Bill is adept at navigating a path to a favorable solution.

In recent years, as the use of AI proliferates across nearly every industry, Bill has focused on helping clients minimize AI-litigation risk.  While this technology is greatly beneficial, it is also highly prone to error. Litigation over who bears responsibility for AI errors is easy to foresee.  Businesses that use AI responsibly are best positioned to prevail in those lawsuits, or avoid them entirely. 

To that end, Bill advises clients on regulatory compliance and best practices in AI governance, including implementation of guardrails and drafting of internal policies. For example, Bill serves as outside general counsel to a startup whose business model centers on AI.

A related litigation risk in the age of AI is cybersecurity. As AI models show rapidly increasing hacking abilities, cybersecurity vigilance is critical.  Bill advises clients in this area as well; he holds a Certification in Cybersecurity: Managing Risk in the Information Age, from Harvard University (Office of the Vice Provost for Advances in Learning). 

Internally, Bill has served in a number of leadership roles, including the firm’s Co-General Counsel from 2023 to 2024, and Deputy General Counsel in 2022.
