PHILADELPHIA (August 10, 2021) — Klehr Harrison Harvey Branzburg LLP is pleased to announce that Justin D. Csik, an associate in the firm’s Corporate and Securities Department, was recently appointed to the Board of Trustees for Independence Charter School (ICS) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
He began his tenure through the Philadelphia Bar Foundation’s Board Observer Program and was matched with the school to serve as an observer on their board as well as its finance committee. At the conclusion of the observer program, he was invited to serve as a full member in the same capacities.
ICS is a community-based K-8 public charter school. They provide an intellectually-stimulating curriculum with a global focus designed to develop independent, thoughtful global citizens. The school emphasizes second language acquisition and integrates arts, ideas and histories from around the world.

Csik represents corporate clients, alternative entities and not-for-profit corporations across a variety of industries and concentrations. His general corporate practice focuses on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and a wide range of commercial and business matters, including corporate governance and the preparation of organizational and governing documents, securities, equity and debt financings, joint ventures, corporate reorganizations, strategic investments and advice on corporate structures, operational contracts, SaaS and technology agreements, and similar transactions. He advises not-for-profit corporations on a variety of corporate governance and operational matters unique to the circumstances specific to public charities and private foundations, including the review and preparation of governing and organizational documents, compliance and corporate governance.
In addition, Csik is a franchise attorney who assists franchisors with all legal aspects of the franchise relationship, including franchise system formation, preparation of the franchise disclosure document and franchise agreement, state registrations and compliance with the FTC franchise rule, and management and administration of franchise systems and franchisee relations. He also counsels individual and multi-unit franchisees in the acquisition and sale of franchise outlets, with specific attention to the franchisor relationship and its approval of the purchase and sale transaction. He is also a member of the firm’s fund formation group.
