Michael maintains a diverse litigation and arbitration practice. His clients are industry leaders and startups at the cutting edge of life sciences, technology and finance. They seek his advice in matters involving complex commercial disputes, intellectual property, corporate and securities laws, internal investigations, employment matters and public international law. He advises his clients on the best way to avoid disputes and, when necessary, he advocates on their behalf in government investigations, at trial and on appeal.
Prior to joining the firm, Michael worked at an AmLaw 20 firm in New York.
In addition to his commercial practice, Michael is passionate about access to healthcare. His work on behalf of victims of sexual assault and medical abuse in immigration detention led the Biden Administration to shut down the Irwin County Detention Center in Georgia, and he helped secure a preliminary injunction against a Civil War-era abortion ban in West Virginia. In his free time, he volunteers as a medical interpreter.
Michael is fluent in Spanish.
