Matthew concentrates his practice on construction and complex commercial litigation. He serves as a trusted advisor to owners, contractors, and subcontractors, counseling clients on risk management and dispute avoidance throughout all phases of public and private construction projects.
Matthew regularly represents clients in matters involving project delays, construction defects, performance and payment bond claims, mechanics’ liens, wrongful termination, delayed or withheld payments, and breach of contract and related contractual claims. His experience includes preparing and litigating bid protests and drafting motions and briefs in construction-related disputes. He represents clients in depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings and has argued before the Superior Court and Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania and the New Jersey Superior Court Appellate Division.
When disputes arise, Matthew works with clients to develop practical, efficient strategies aimed at resolving issues at the earliest possible stage. He routinely guides clients through settlement negotiations and mediation while positioning matters for arbitration or litigation when necessary, with a focus on protecting business objectives and minimizing disruption to ongoing projects.
Matthew frequently writes and speaks about trends and legislation impacting the construction industry.
Prior to joining the firm, Matthew was a partner with a midsize law firm specializing in construction law in Philadelphia.
