PHILADELPHIA (May 19, 2025) – Klehr Harrison Harvey Branzburg LLP is proud to share that attorneys Richard M. Beck and Caixia Su were recently invited to present on the topic of Legislative Development of Delaware Corporate Law to top law firms in China. At the end of April, Beck, a partner in the Litigation Department and Bankruptcy and Restructuring Department, and Su, a commercial and corporate litigation associate, presented to three Chinese firms on Delaware litigation tools to protect shareholders’ interests and legislative developments in Delaware Corporate Law.
Su was traveling in China at the time and was able to present to the firms in person, while Beck joined in virtually. The presentation was given to Jiangshu He & Partners Law Firm in Suzhou, AllBright Law Offices in Shanghai, and T&E Law Firm in Hangzhou. This follows a similarly successful presentation for Intelligeast, a Chinese legal intelligence company, that Beck and Su delivered at its U.S.-China Legal Community Dialogue in 2024.
“Recently, Delaware Corporate law has had controversial and influential legislative developments,” noted Beck. “The state’s pro-business environment is attractive to international and cross-border companies, particularly companies and investors from China. It was an honor to take part in this discussion, share our perspectives and build new connections with such an engaged Chinese audience.”
“International dialogues like these play a vital role in exchanging ideas and increasing understanding of legal nuances, particularly in the current business atmosphere between China and the U.S.,” added Su. “It’s a valuable chance to introduce our firm’s services and expertise and to discuss with Chinese colleagues about the prospects for Chinese companies doing business in the U.S.”
Beck practices complex business litigation and corporate bankruptcy and is regularly involved in commercial disputes in the Federal and State Courts in Delaware and throughout the United States. He represents businesses and other constituencies in complex litigation and bankruptcy and regularly practices before the Delaware Court of Chancery, the Complex Commercial Litigation Division of the Delaware Superior Court, and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
In addition to his trial practice, Beck has advised clients in a diverse array of specialized engagements, including representing assignees for the benefit of creditors in voluntary assignment proceedings in the Delaware Court of Chancery, representing independent directors and other independent fiduciaries in corporate investigations, representing businesses in out-of-court restructurings and Article 9 transactions, participating in litigation and restructuring cases in Canada in connection with cross border disputes, and being retained as an expert witness on Delaware corporate law and Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
