Ray has represented clients for more than 30 years in matters relating to bankruptcy and insolvency, litigation and general business issues. He has substantial experience assisting healthy businesses, as well as financially challenged businesses, navigate their paths forward. He has represented high net worth individuals through complicated business transactions and contractual negotiations, as well as representing business entities in out-of-court restructurings.
Ray has represented constituencies on all sides of insolvency proceedings including unsecured creditors’ committees, equity security holders’ committees, debtors in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, landlords, Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 trustees, post-confirmation Trustees and buyers of assets. He also has an active transaction practice in which he represents both buyers and sellers of businesses and businesses seeking equity or debt financing.
In addition to maintaining a robust business and insolvency practice, Ray also speaks on corporate law as well as business reorganization topics and is the co-author of the “Appointment of the Committee and Retention/Compensation of Professionals” chapter of Representing The Creditors’ Committee, A Guide for Practitioners, a publication from the American Bankruptcy Institute. Ray also volunteers pro bono for the Homeless Advocacy Project (HAP) and is on the Board of Directors of Consumer Bankruptcy Assistance Project (CBAP).
