Working closely with the real estate & finance group, we employ the firm’s transactional expertise both before and during litigation, as well as in crafting settlement strategies. We represent some of the largest commercial property portfolio owners in the country, in addition to developers, contractors and suppliers of nearly every size.

Representative Matters

• Obtaining a complete victory, including damages and attorneys’ fees, for a real estate investment fund in a “corporate divorce” dispute with its joint venture partner regarding a 550 acre real estate development project in Colorado.
• Tried to verdict two consolidated actions in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas involving a plaintiff’s claim to ownership of our client’s $70 million property via theories alleging adverse possession, boundary by consent and abandonment.
• Successfully represented a private developer in a $20 million HUD project dispute with its general contractor and bonding company.
• Obtained a temporary restraining order in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey enjoining the Army Corps of Engineers from awarding $60 million contract where authorities violated Margate City’s Due Process rights by failing to follow Eminent Domain procedures with respect to municipally-owned beaches.
• Successfully litigated and tried the largest filing under Pennsylvania’s Abandoned and Blighted Property Conservatorship Act (Act 135) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on behalf of not-for-profit blight conservator.
• Defended a construction manager/general contractor in three adversary proceedings in the United States Bankruptcy Court (Eastern District of New York) brought by a debtor-subcontractor and a major labor union alleging over $6 million in delay, inefficiency and other damages.
